В статье прослеживаются исторические аспекты вопроса физической культуры на территории Рязанского края в XVIII - XIX веках. Раскрывается вклад знаменитых земляков-рязанцев в физическое воспитание не только в Рязанском крае, но и в целом в Российском государстве. Прослеживается роль и место физической культуры, физического воспитания в системе ценностных ориентаций выдающихся уроженцев Рязанского края, их взгляды на вопросы физического и нравственного здоровья, гармоничного развития личности, здорового образа жизни.

The article traces the historical aspects of the issue of physical culture in the territory of the Ryazan region in the XVIII - XIX centuries. The contribution of famous countrymen of Ryazan to physical education is revealed not only in the Ryazan region, but also in the Russian state as a whole. The role and place of physical culture, physical education in the system of value orientations of outstanding natives of Ryazan region, their views on the issues of physical and moral health, harmonious development of personality, healthy lifestyle are traced.
